PanAmSat Corp. [SPOT] said it recently hosted 22 regulators from developing nations around the world for a training symposium sponsored by the U.S. Telecommunications Training Institute. The symposium, which covered satellite technology and regulatory issues, featured speakers including Amb. Vonya McCann of the State Department and FCC Commissioner Susan Ness. The non-profit program was founded in 1982 and is sponsored by the U.S. government as well as companies including AT&T [T], Iridium LLC, PanAmSat and Teledesic Corp. PanAmSat hosted the event at its Napa, Calif., Earth Station–covering the Pacific Ocean Region–from Feb. 24 to March 7.
