The Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) and the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) have selected McMurdo’s Medium-Altitude Earth Orbit Search and Rescue (MEOSAR) ground system to support Singapore search and rescue missions. As part of the MEOSAR ground system contract, McMurdo will deliver a six-channel Medium-altitude Earth Orbit Local User Terminal (MEOLUT) system, including hardware, installation, systems integration, testing, commissioning, training and program management services.

The contract also includes delivery of McMurdo’s Prisma MCCNet, which provides a complete Cospas-Sarsat commissionable mission control center, and Prisma RCCNet, a command and control platform for search and rescue incidents.

This initiative will deliver Search and Rescue Satellite-aided Tracking (SARSAT) technology to provide accurate, reliable data for search and rescue crews to locate people in distress within minutes, thereby minimizing the time spent in distress conditions.
