[Via Satellite 02-12-2015] MTN Communications has signed two new global cruise line operators as customers for maritime connectivity, and has renewed a contract with a long-term European customer. Noble Caledonia, a U.K. based operator of small cruise ships, and Grand Circle Cruise Line from Boston, Mass. will leverage the company’s satellite and terrestrial connectivity services for passengers around the world. Greece-based Celestyal Cruises, a new Louis Cruises brand, renewed its contract with MTN, for connecting its ships, which operate in the Eastern Mediterranean.

“These operators are addressing the explosion of Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) passengers and crew onboard vessels,” said Brent Horwitz, senior vice president and general manager of cruise and ferry services at MTN. “Our approach enables them to deliver impressive Internet speeds; the ability to download and upload bandwidth-intensive images, videos and files; access live global TV; and stay in touch with family and friends.”
