[Via Satellite 08-11-2014] O3b Networks has selected Telecommunications Systems (TCS) as a channel partner for providing satellite services to government and commercial customers. TCS will use its contract vehicles for agreements with the United States government, and will contract directly to its own commercial customers. The company reports that it is already in discussions with potential government customers for O3b.

“TCS’ partnership with O3b allows us to now offer an affordable alternative for satellite bandwidth to our government and commercial customers that need true broadband connectivity,” said Michael Bristol, president of TCS Government Solutions Group. “TCS is already discussing lower cost alternatives with several government agencies, which O3b can deliver.”

In July O3b launched four satellites into Medium Earth Orbit (MEO), making the company a global operator. Four more satellites are slated to launch in early 2015 to meet anticipated demand.
