[Via Satellite 05-28-2014] The Brazilian Space Agency’s (AEB) first CubeSat, C Br1, was transported to the Yasny launch base in Orenburg Oblast, Russia from the Dutch facility in Delft, Netherlands where it underwent final testing. In March the satellite went through a battery of tests in the Integration and Testing Laboratory (ITL) at the National Institute for Space Research (INPE) in São José dos Campos, Brazil.

C Br1 is scheduled to launch on June 19. It was developed through funding from the AEB, and is one of four Brazilian CubeSats scheduled to launch this year. Launches expected in the second half of the year include the Aeronautics Technological Institute’s (ITA) PEA 14 satellite, the Serpens CubeSat, produced in coordination with several universities and AEB and CanSat, manufactured by students at the Municipal School Tancredo de Almeida Neves, with assistance from the Instituto Nacional de Pesquisas Espaciais (INPE).
