[Via Satellite 05-16-2014] Garmin reached an agreement with Fusion Electronics, a provider of integrated marine audio equipment, to acquire all of the company’s assets and those of its subsidiaries. The acquisition is set to occur on June 30, 2014.

“Fusion has pioneered a number of innovations in marine audio,” said Cliff Pemble, CEO and president of Garmin. “Their ability to integrate their products with networked marine multifunction displays has been recognized across the industry.”

Fusion’s audio products are designed for use in marine environments. The company’s flagship head unit, the 700 series, allows mariners to connect and control audio through Marine Multifunction Displays (MFDs) and select multi-zone audio configuration.
