[Satellite TODAY 11-12-12] SkyVision Global Networks will continue expanding its local presence across Africa, the global provider of IP connectivity over satellite and fiber optic systems announced Nov. 12.

Due to the rapid development of African markets, Skyvision aims to maintain its position as a major African service provider by increasing its presence in key African markets.
“It was clear from day one that if SkyVision was to enhance its market leadership in Africa, the company would have to expand its strong and reliable local presence,” SkyVision CEO Mr. Ben Sira said in a statement. “I am proud to say that we have made a major leap in this direction over the past year and will continue to do so moving forward into 2013.”
Steps taken to expand SkyVision’s presence include the establishment of a local office and teleport in South Africa, tactically positioned to respond to South African businesses requiring high quality communication services over fiber, wireless and satellite to and from Africa. The new SkyVision iDirect hub located in Johannesburg supports the latest iDX 3.1 iDirect release, and utilizes the Amos 5 satellite both on C-Band and Ku-Band, covering southern and sub-Saharan Africa.
