By Jeffrey Hill | February 17, 2011

[Satellite TODAY 02-17-11] The U.S. Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) renewed its contract with Numerex and QinetiQ to continue providing M2M managed services for the agency’s asset tracking system, the partners announced Feb. 16.
The tracking system, which includes tracking of all FEMA-owned trailers and equipment, aims to provide near real-time tracking of relief supplies as they are transferred into disaster areas and consists of Numerex’s satellite asset tracking tag, airtime service and field-enhanced logistics application.
Numerex also provides personnel for ongoing training, maintenance and readiness services during non-disaster times and personnel to support surge operations in conjunction with QinetiQ during disasters and recovery operations.
