Swe-Dish Provides Satellite Terminals In Romania

[Satellite Today – 1-23-08] Swe-Dish Satellite Systems AB has partnered with Romanian satellite operator Adisam Telecom S.A. to deliver mobile broadband satellite terminals to the Romanian government and broadcast customers, Swe-Dish announced Jan. 23.
    The Swe-Dish IPT Suitcase is a portable, fully integrated broadband satellite terminal marketed toward special operations units within military, police and rescue organizations and fast-moving correspondents and media crews within commercial broadcasting companies. The IPT-i version uses an integrated iDirect modem, which allows data rates up to 4.2 megabits per second and enables advanced bandwidth sharing.
        "With this order for an important Romanian government customer, we begin our work in the Eastern European market, emphasizing the value we offer to government and commercial customers worldwide," Lars Jehrlander, CEO of Swe-Dish, said in a statement. "We continue to see that highly mobile, secure broadband satellite communications is an essential capability for all military organizations and other government users.”
