Filtronic has won a contract worth over 7 million euros ($8 million) to supply radio frequency (RF) assemblies for integration into a major Low-Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite constellation program. The deal has been done with a leading European aerospace manufacturer, and will be over the next three years. Filtronic announced the contract award, Nov. 6.
Filtronic is a company that specialized in high-frequency RF solutions for space applications. These complex assemblies, designed and manufactured in-house by Filtronic are engineered to withstand the demanding conditions of the space environment at LEO, with the aim of delivering high-reliability performance across a wide range of communication applications.
“This contract highlights the increasing diversification across customers within the space markets and reflects the trust placed in Filtronic’s capability to deliver at scale for the most demanding space applications. As demand for satellite connectivity continues to grow, this is another milestone in Filtronic’s mission to support the growing satellite market for Non-Terrestrial Networks, Mobile Satellite Services, and Direct-to-Device connectivity,” Nat Edington, CEO of Filtronic, said in a statement.
