Vitesse Systems has recently acquired ground antenna technology provider Spacetime Engineering to enhance its ground capabilities for the connected battlefield.

Spacetime Engineering provides high-performance antenna feeds for ground-based satellite and gateway antenna systems, used in military and commercial satellite networks. Spacetime has multi-band ground antenna expertise that Vitesse said compliments its space and airborne-related antenna solutions.

Vitesse CEO Matthew Alty told Via Satellite in a statement that acquiring Spacetime Engineering improves its ground antenna feed manufacturing capacity and will allow the company to deliver shorter lead times.

“The expansion of our multi-band feed design library delivers flexibility to close the link to space-based assets from Low-Earth Orbit deep space,” Alty said. “It provides our customers resiliency through multi-frequency operation, enabling users to adapt and maintain connectivity in contested environments. These enhancements in capability position Vitesse as the premier partner to support customers RF link closure across space, air, and ground domains.”

Vitesse, a radio frequency (RF) and antenna solutions provider, is headquartered in Newark, California and backed by Trive Capital. The company has approximately 400 employees and the addition of Spacetime will add 40 employees to the company. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
