Finnish ground station services provider NorthBase has new partnerships with Infostellar and Atlas Space Operations for access to its ground station. NorthBase announced Monday that Infostellar will add NorthBase assets in Finland to its ground station network.

In addition, Atlas Space Operations recently added the NorthBase site in Muonio, Finland, to its Freedom ground station network.

NorthBase was founded in Finland in 2019 and offers satellite ground station and hosting services. The company operates two sites in Finland, in Muonio and Tampere. The Muonio site at 68 degrees northern latitude provides visibility to polar orbit satellites.

Infostellar, based in Japan, operates the StellarStation cloud platform to virtualize ground station networks. Naomi Kurahara said in a release that this partnership strengthens Infostellar’s position in Europe.

“Being part of the StellarStation network is a great opportunity for us. Infostellar has clientele in regions where we have not previously been present, and we, in turn, provide Infostellar customers with an exceptionally good location in Northern Europe,” NorthBase Chairman Dr. Tommi Rasila commented.
