The Hughes Network Systems HL1100W antenna is now available commercially for use on the Eutelsat OneWeb satellite network, Hughes announced last week. HL1100W was designed as a lighter solution to be installed on buildings and structures, onshore oil rigs, etc.
HL1100W is a single panel electronically steerable antenna (ESA). It has no moving parts and is a self-aligning terminal with a built-in modem and Wi-Fi. According to its product specifications, it allows for a peak downlink data rate of 75 Mbps and a peak uplink rate of 14 Mbps. It weighs 23.3 pounds.
Hughes said the antenna is available for global commercial orders and inventory is already produced. The company highlighted its utility for global enterprise use with its size, weight, performance, and ease of installation.
“The HL1100W brings another dimension of connectivity to our product portfolio and to our customers around the world,” said Filipe De Oliveira, vice president for commercial at Eutelsat OneWeb. “At a time when low-latency, high-performance connectivity has never been more vital, this device will deliver the flexibility and speed that our customers need.”
