Eutelsat has hired a former Maersk exec as it looks to boost revenues in the connectivity space. It has appointed Eva Birgitte Bisgaard as its new president of the Connectivity business unit. Bisgaard will also join Eutelsat’s Group’s executive committee. Bisgaard will replace Cyril Dujardin who is transitioning to a new executive role within the company. Eutelsat made the announcement, Jan 9.
Prior to Eutelsat, Bisgaard served as chief commercial officer of Maersk Tankers, where she led global commercial engagement with partners and customers and drove digital innovation in addition to leading sales and services operations while overseeing decarbonization and transformation initiatives. Eva also spent nearly two decades with the Danish incumbent telecommunications operator TDC.
“Eutelsat has a unique role to play in global connectivity. I’m honored to take on this position and to continue building our trusted European-anchored connectivity business alongside our teams and partners, serving enterprises and governments worldwide,” Bisgaard said in a statement.
