Singaporean connectivity provider Can Marine will use Eutelsat’s OneWeb Low-Earth Orbit (LEO) constellation to deliver maritime connectivity to maritime customers in the Asia-Pacific region, the companies announced Monday.

Under the new multi-year agreement, Can Marine will use OneWeb connectivity to serve clients in merchant shipping and offshore energy. Can Marine provides end-to-end satellite communications solutions to its customers, including network design, service delivery, and support.

The companies did not disclose the agreement’s financial terms.

Can Marine Vice President Lim Ding Liang said the agreement will help Can Marine improve operational efficiency, enhance safety, and support innovation and crew welfare across global fleets.

“As the maritime industry accelerates its digital transformation, connectivity is no longer just an enabler, it is core operational infrastructure,” Liang said. “Our partnership with Eutelsat and access to OneWeb LEO connectivity allow us to move beyond traditional communications and support a new generation of digital vessel capabilities.”

Eutelsat continues to invest in maritime services. This month, French shipping and logistics firm CMA CGM said it would install OneWeb services on nearly half of its 650-vessel fleet. Indian connectivity provider Station Satcom, which serves more than 6,000 vessels, said it would use OneWeb for its services to nearly 6,000 maritime vessels.
