GovMilSpace Makes Its Debut Alongside SATELLITE

A new co-located event, GovMilSpace, makes its debut at SATELLITE 2025, bringing together government and military space leaders with the commercial satellite industry for the first time under one roof.

GovMilSpace features dedicated programming for defense and national security space stakeholders, including sessions on resilient architectures, commercial satellite acquisition, and the integration of commercial capabilities into government missions. Key speakers include senior officials from the Space Force, NRO, Army, Navy, and Marine Corps space commands.

The event reflects a broader shift in how the defense community is engaging with commercial space. “The commercial satellite industry and the defense space community have never needed each other more,” said Via Satellite Editorial Director Mark Holmes. “GovMilSpace is the forum where those conversations can happen at scale.”

Programming covers topics including the Space Development Agency’s Proliferated Warfighter Space Architecture, commercial imagery and GEOINT, satellite communications for JADC2, and cybersecurity for space systems.

GovMilSpace attendees have full access to the SATELLITE 2025 exhibition floor and keynotes, enabling commercial and government participants to engage across the combined event. Organizers said the co-location is designed to reduce the friction between acquisition-side government buyers and commercial providers at a time when DoD is accelerating its reliance on commercial satellite services.
