Amazon Web Services (AWS) has joined the United States Geospatial Intelligence Foundation (USGIF) as a strategic-level member, the organization announced April 5. AWS is the 27th strategic-level member of USGIF and joins fellow members The Boeing Company, Maxar Technologies, and L3Harris Technologies.

USGIF is a nonprofit educational foundation that works to promote geospatial intelligence and the GEOINT community among government, industry, and academia. The group said that geospatial customers benefit AWS cloud platform, which frees them from having to purchase, maintain, and operate their own servers and data centers.

“Having AWS join the foundation as a strategic-level member is truly a big deal for us,” commented Ronda Schrenk, USGIF CEO. “They bring a unique perspective and wealth of knowledge to our community and organization. We look forward to an engaging and symbiotic relationship.”
