Under the terms of a new partnership agreement, Finnish satellite data services company ICEYE will provide Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) data to Ursa‘s energy customers in return for Ursa reselling ICEYE products, the two companies announced June 7. Ursa and ICEYE will also enter into a joint-development project to create new SAR-based analytic services.

ICEYE is in the process of building a massive SAR satellite data constellation. The company is scheduled to launch up to five additional satellites by the end of this year. Ursa has very quickly emerged from a SAR provider startup, to one of the largest enterprise sector data suppliers in the market.

“Since Ursa’s founding, our mission has been to shed light on the dark corners of the world and help our customers with unmatched global economic intelligence,” Ursa CEO and Co-Founder Adam Maher, said in a statement. “ICEYE is aligned with our mission and has been a great partner for Ursa, so we’re looking forward to continue working together to prove the limitless capabilities of SAR and expanding the global market together.”
