Marlink has made a significant move as it looks to better position itself in the European government, defense and critical infrastructure markets. It is to acquire Global RadioData Communications (GRC), a U.K. specialist in communication networks for defense and government customers. Marlink announced the deal, Aug. 11.
Marlink will be adding a long-standing U.K. operation with defense-focused engineering, product and service capabilities to its Government and Defense business unit. The combination aims to accelerate Marlink’s growth strategy across Europe and give customers access to multi-orbit satellite connectivity, managed networks, IT, cloud and cyber security capabilities from a single provider. The two companies aim to continue their technology agnostic strategy, supporting customers’ mission-critical operations with the best available connectivity, network, cyber security, IT and cloud technologies combined in fully managed environments.
