The U.S. Space Force’s Space Systems Command (SSC) has awarded SES Space and Defense a five-year blanket purchase agreement (BPA) for global Ku-band connectivity, including a number of managed connectivity services. The BPA deal structure allows the military to quickly get access to Ku-band connectivity.
The agreement covers a number of managed services — FlexMove, a service geared toward communications-on-the-move (COTM) and communications-on-the-pause (COTP); FlexGovSecure, a transmission security (TRANSEC) solution that hides signals to protect against tracking and hacking; and FlexAir service for aircraft. FlexAir involves Satcom Direct Government (SDG), which delivers services through the Gogo Plane Simple Ku-band terminal.
“Managed services like Flex provide access to advanced satcom capabilities without the cost and complexity of maintaining proprietary infrastructure,” said David Broadbent, president and CEO of SES Space & Defense. “The managed service allows our customers to focus on mission objectives while leveraging industry speed, innovation, and efficiency to stay ahead of evolving threats.”
