Azerbaijan’s space agency Azercosmos has signed an MoU to collaborate with the Republic of Chad on satellite services and space activities. 

The agreement covers cooperating on developing the space ecosystem, strategic consultancy, spectrum management, geographic information systems (GIS), remote sensing, satellite communications, satellite operations and ground systems, as well as regulatory matters related to space activities and satellite services.

The countries also plan to explore business opportunities in telecommunications, broadcasting and data services, teleports, and ground station services, as well as joint initiatives in space technologies, artificial intelligence, and Earth Observation services. The Azercosmos Space Academy plans to offer satellite education programs for schools. 

Azercosmos signed the agreement with the telecommunications regulatory body in Chad, announced Jan. 29.
