Millennium Space Systems FOO Fighter Program Completes Critical Design Review in 10 Months. Millennium will begin to deliver a constellations of satellites beginning in 2026.

Boeing subsidiary Millennium Space Systems has completed its critical design review (CDR) for the Space Development Agency’s (SDA) Fire-control On Orbit-support-to-the-war Fighter (FOO Fighter) prototype constellation system. The company announced Monday that it wrapped up the CDR just 10 months after receiving authorization to proceed.

“Meeting rapid timelines is essential to ensuring we deliver mission capabilities when needed,” Millennium Space Systems Portfolio Lead Doug Hulse said in the announcement. “Completing the FOO Fighter critical design review in just 10 months highlights the efficiency and determination of our team. Our focus is always on providing the warfighter with the tools they need, and this achievement underscores our commitment to delivering mission requirements on time.”

FOO Fighter is a constellation of eight missile defense fire control satellites, which are slated to launch in late 2026. Millennium is designing the satellites to detect and track advanced missile threats, including hypersonic missiles, by incorporating fire control-quality sensors into the satellites.

Millennium will now transition to the production phase of the program, which includes delivering a constellation of eight satellites with a ground system in 2026. Millennium said it will perform mission operations once in orbit.
