Measat has made a significant broadband commitment to Malaysia’s military personnel. The company announced May 17 that it will be providing its CONNECTme NOW satellite broadband services for free under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program to frontline Malaysian Armed Forces personnel serving at selected remote border checkpoint posts located across Malaysia.

CONNECTme NOW is a prepaid satellite broadband Wi-Fi hotspot service by Measat. It provides community-focused satellite broadband services to realize national broadband aspirations. Today, CONNECTme NOW provides 400,000 broadband connections within unconnected communities residing outside of 4G or terrestrial coverage areas nationwide.

“As a proud Malaysian company committed to providing broadband coverage even in the most remote areas of the country, Measat recognises the dedication of our military personnel and is pleased to support the Malaysian Armed Forces teams in keeping our borders safe. Being away from loved ones for extended periods can sometimes feel challenging, so we would like to make it more convenient for our dedicated soldiers to stay connected with their families through our high-speed CONNECTme NOW platform,” said Yau Chyong Lim, Chief Operating Officer, Measat, said in a statement.
