The U.S. Department of Defense has signed an additional order from SES Government Services for satellite services from the O3b constellation. The 11.8 million task order is part of a Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) worth $516.7 million. This is the 15th task order for this agreement.

SES designed, developed, and fielded an O3b Medium-Earth Orbit (MEO) reachback capability to provide mission-critical communications for a key combatant command. With this task order, SES will expand its satellite services as the combatant command requirements evolve.

“The Department of Defense has vast and expansive information at their fingertips,” commented President and CEO of SES Government Solutions, retired U.S. Air Force Brig. Gen. Pete Hoene. “Utilizing reachback technology gives our warfighters the information and support needed for mission success. By leveraging the O3b MEO constellation, deployed U.S. military personnel have access to near real-time decision-making intelligence at the tactical edge.”
