The Mission-Critical Technologies group of Comtech Telecommunications has been awarded $1.6 million in additional funding to its sustainment contract to provide ongoing sustainment services for the AN/TSC-198A SNAP (Secret Internet Protocol Router (SIPR) and Non-Classified Internet Protocol Router (NIPR) Access Point), and baseband equipment. This additional funding, announced on Monday, came during the third quarter of fiscal year 2020.

SNAP terminals provide quick and mobile satellite communications capabilities to personnel in the field. The contract was previously announced in March 2018 and has been funded  $88.6 million to date.

“We are pleased that the U.S. Army has chosen to continue to fund the sustainment and technical refresh of our SNAP hardware. The U.S. Army depends on the sustainability of these advanced communication solutions and we are pleased that they have chosen our reliable communications systems for their missions,” said Comtech CEO and Chairman of the Board Fred Kornberg.
