Comtech revealed that Comtech PST received a multi-million dollar contract award for solid-state, high-power Radio Frequency (RF) amplifier systems from Northrop Grumman for use on the U.S. Navy’s Next Generation Jammer – Low Band (NGJ-LB) Demonstration of Existing Technologies (DET). The contract was received during Comtech’s second quarter of fiscal 2019.

The NGJ system aims to augment, and ultimately replace the EA-18G Growler aircraft’s legacy ALQ-99 Tactical Jammer System with airborne electronic attack capabilities. Comtech PST is a supplier of broadband, high-power, RF microwave amplifiers and control components for use in applications including defense, radar, medical, satellite communications systems, and instrumentation.

In commenting on this contract award, Fred Kornberg, President and Chief Executive Officer of Comtech Telecommunications Corp., said, “This significant award demonstrates Comtech’s strength in developing solid-state, high-power RF amplifier systems for advanced airborne electronic warfare systems. Comtech brings extensive knowledge and experience to the Northrop Grumman team to support the U.S. Navy.”
