Comtech Xicom Receives Follow-On Military Contract

Comtech Telecommunications Corporation announced today that its subsidiary, Comtech Xicom Technology, has received a follow-on contract from a U.S. military integrator for high-power satellite communication Traveling Wave Tube Amplifiers (TWTAs). The contract is worth more than $4.8 million.

Comtech Xicom Technology manufactures a variety of tube-based and solid-state power amplifiers for military and commercial satellite uplink applications. The product range includes power levels from 8 W to 3 kW, with frequency coverage in sub-bands within the 2 GHz to 51 GHz spectrums. Amplifiers are built for fixed and ground-based, shipboard, and airborne mobile applications.

“The U.S. military counts on Comtech Xicom Technology to deliver sophisticated, high-power amplifiers,” Comtech Telecommunications Corporation President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Fred Kornberg said in the release, and “Over the past five years, Comtech Xicom has manufactured hundreds of amplifiers for this application.”
