Hughes Network Systems announced it has been named one of multiple awardees on the General Services Administration’s (GSA) Complex Commercial Satcom Solutions (CS3) contract. CS3 is a multiple-award, Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) multiple-award contract vehicle with a period of performance of up to 10 years, including a base period of five years, with two option periods of three years and two years, respectively.

According to GSA, CS3 will help simplify the procurement of complex global satcom solutions, such as disaster recovery communications and broadband delivery to underserved regions.

Under CS3, Hughes will supply government agencies with customizable solutions designed to meet networking requirements across multiple categories, including emergency responder operations, interactive services, broadband access, mobile satcom and others.

The Hughes solutions available on CS3 will leverage the company’s Jupiter System, a High-Throughput Satellite (HTS) broadband platform that supports a range of applications such as broadband access, enterprise networking, cellular backhaul, and communications-on-the-move.
