US Air Force Extends Satellite Control Network Contract with Harris Corporation

      [Via Satellite 11-10-2015] The United States Air Force awarded Harris Corporation a $40 million, nine-month extension of the network and space operations and maintenance contract. The company will support the Air Force satellite control network at two network control locations in the U.S. and at antenna sites throughout the world.

      Harris received the contract during the first quarter of fiscal 2016. Under the contract, the company will provide operations, maintenance and logistics support to Air Force satellite operations at the 50th Space Wing at Schriever Air Force Base, Colo., and other worldwide locations. Harris’ work will support Department of Defense (DOD) satellites, the Air Force satellite control network, and GPS antenna sites.
