[Satellite TODAY 02-15-12] Satellite communications infrastructure, solutions, and teleport services provider UltiSat has been awarded a U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) contract under its Custom Satcom Solutions/Small Business (CS2-SB) program, UltiSat announced Feb. 14.
The CS2-SB is a three-year indefinite delivery/indefinite quality contract that will allow UltiSat to provide emergency response and disaster recovery communications systems, satellite-based backup communications networks, distributed distance learning networks and COTM/ISR solutions.
The overall contract vehicle contains projected spending of up to $900 million over the next five years.
“UltiSat is well positioned as a qualified small business to provide those services required by US government personnel to complete their missions. We are nimble and responsive and can provide comsatcom solutions anywhere and anytime on the planet. The government recognizes that well-run small businesses like UltiSat can partner with end users to meet their needs efficiently and cost effectively,” UltiSat Vice President of Government Systems Michael Pollack said in a statement.
