Qinetiq, AI Solutions Win $1.95 Billion NASA Engineering Contract

      [Satellite TODAY 11-29-10] NASA selected prime contractor Qinetiq North America and subcontractor AI Solutions to provide engineering services and products for the Kennedy Space Center, Fla., under the agency’s engineering services contract, Qinetiq announced Nov. 24.
          The cost-plus award fee contract begins in March and carries a maximum potential value of about $1.95 billion for a five-year base period and three, one-year option periods.
          Qinetiq will provide ground system development, spaceflight systems engineering and analysis of launch vehicle and spacecraft payload systems and subsystems. AI Solutions will support Qinetiq by providing information technology security, software tools development, system engineering and system administration support.
           “The agency’s Engineering Services Contract provides for many of Kennedy’s vital institutional capabilities and addresses future operational needs. We are thrilled to be a part of this important effort,” AI Solutions President and CEO Robert Sperling said in a statement.
