Norwegian Military Extends VSAT Service Contract with Vizada

[Satellite TODAY 05-05-10] Vizada Networks won a contract expansion with the Norwegian Defense Logistics Organization (NDLO) which will enter the company into a new framework agreement to supply commercial satellite capacity and additional services, Vizada announced May 5.
Vizada’s initial contract with the NDLO, signed in February, included the provision of on-demand satellite capacity in defined areas for the Norwegian Armed Forces. Vizada Networks now will provide the NDLO with worldwide VSAT coverage and become a one-stop shop for the organization’s satellite communication requirements.
Vizada also will supply capacity on contractors’ satellite anchor stations, lease landlines from the Norwegian Defense Information Network Infrastructure to satellite anchor stations, host NDLO’s own equipment, and provide training and engineering services.
“This agreement … extends on a strong foundation of previous cooperation and our wide ranging experience in providing defense communications for NATO and other military organizations in all current operational theatres including Iraq and Afghanistan," Vizada Networks Defense Director Rune Kristiansen said in a statement.
Financial details of the contract were not disclosed.
