[Satellite TODAY 04-20-10] ViaSat has received a $6.6 million add-on to its $21.5 million Multifunctional Information Distribution System–Low Volume Terminals (MIDS-LVT) delivery order contract with the U.S. Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command, the company announced April 19.
This terminal order was placed by the Republic of Turkey to support the modernization of naval platforms, C-130s and ground air defense systems. The MIDS-LVT system is used by the U.S. Navy, U.S. Air Force and U.S. Army as well as military forces of other nations.
ViaSat will begin delivering the MIDS-LVT in March 2011.
