[Satellite TODAY 03-12-10] Broadpoint signed a contract with SandRidge Energy to provide offshore aviation communications to the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration, Broadpoint announced.
The FAA has used Broadpoint’s digital communications network to upgrade airspace communications equipment on offshore oil platforms in the Gulf of Mexico owned by SandRidge.
The FAA in 2009 began upgrading the equipment used for commercial, military and defense purposes to provide enhanced connectivity between offshore flights and land-based control towers.
