International Datacasting Corp. (IDC) received a $2.62 million contract from the Canadian Department of National Defense for the continued operation of Canadian Forces Radio and Television (CFRT), IDC announced Feb. 1.
The extension is the first of two renewal options that are part of the overall Canadian defense contract IDC won in December 2008.
IDC provides the CFRT service, which broadcasts entertainment programming, sports and news in English and French, to Canadian Forces and peacekeeping troops deployed in regions around the globe including the Middle East, Eastern Europe and Africa.
