Stratos Provides BGAN Lease Service to Canadian Government

      [Satellite TODAY 10-29-09] Stratos Global Corp. has been contracted to provide a dedicated, leased channel on Inmarsat’s Broadband Global Area Network (BGAN) mobile broadband satellite service to the Canadian government, Stratos announced Oct. 28.
          Stratos, an Inmarsat distribution partner, will provide the BGAN lease service, valued at more than $1.85 million, as part of the ITSB-Stratos contract with the Candian government, established in October 2008 to provide a variety of Inmarsat mobile satellite products and services to all departments of the government.
          The service will use one of Inmarsat’s I-4 satellites for mobile broadband voice and data.
