[Satellite Today 07-08-08] ViaSat Inc. signed a 10-year agreement with KVH Industries Inc. establishing a global Ku-band mobile broadband network using ArcLight technology.
Under the agreement, KVH initially will purchase three ArcLight hubs with options for more hubs if the network expands. ViaSat will provide network operation services, managing satellite access, roaming for the hubs and share in the service revenues.
The coverage expansion is scheduled to begin in the fourth quarter.
