[Satellite Today 07-07-08] Spacenet Inc. announced that its satellite services have been deployed in Missouri as part of an emergency response network for two state agencies, the company announced July 7.
The networks for the Missouri Hospital Association (MHA) and Missouri Department of Transportation will be managed by Orbital Data Net (ODN) and provide high-speed satellite-based links to support data and voice communications in the case of a disaster or terrestrial connectivity failure. ODN is a member of Spacenet’s Channel Partner Program.
The services are based on Spacenet’s Connexstar performance and broadband series, supporting Voice Over IP, radio backhaul, and virtual private network Internet access. In addition, ODN is providing technical support and training while maintaining a satellite-based emergency response communications system for existing customers.
