World-Link Communications has launched ShipSat, a broadband IP service that integrates Ku-band VSAT and L-band services for the maritime market, World-Link announced.
ShipSat aims to deliver global IP access, least-cost-routing and switching capabilities among Inmarsat FleetBroadband, Iridium OpenPort, Ku VSAT and other wireless broadband technologies, including OpenPort, 3G, Wi-Fi and WiMax, for a monthly fee.
ShipSat plans start at $1,850 per month and include a VSAT 256K/128K service plus a FleetBroadband 150 or an OpenPort with a 36-month contract.
