Orange has signed a multi-year agreement with Eutelsat Group for Low-Earth Orbit (LEO) connectivity solutions. 

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed in the June 5 announcement, but the companies said Orange is making an investment and plans to offer OneWeb LEO connectivity solutions, including sovereign services to its enterprise and government customers and support mobile backhauling globally.

“It is of strategic importance for Orange to invest in the unique LEO European solution that provides best in class, resilient, tailored and sovereign digital connectivity services to serve our customers wherever they are located. The partnership with Eutelsat for OneWeb services is of vital importance to support their digital transformation,” commented Jean Louis Le Roux, executive vice president of Orange International Networks. 

Orange and Eutelsat are long-term partners and Orange is the exclusive reseller of KONNECT VHTS capacity for consumer broadband in France. Last month, Eutelsat hired the Orange France CEO Jean-François Fallacher to lead the company

Orange also recently signed a LEO deal with Telesat to integrate Telesat Lightspeed capacity into its global portfolio for businesses and telecom operators.
