[Via Satellite 06-17-2014] Nine Network Australia deployed several of Newtec’s broadcast satellite modulators, demodulators, multistream and aggregators to boost efficiency to its satellite network, achieving a 64 percent increase in data rate throughput. This upgrade is intended to help Nine Network maximize its efficiency on the fully leased 54 MHz Optus D1 Ku-band transponder.

Newtec’s Australian partner Lumina Broadcast Systems supplied the upgrade, which is compliant with Second Generation Digital Video Broadcasting – Satellite (DVB S2) standards. It uses Newtec’s clean channel technology and multistream technology, which allows the network to combine independent transport streams into a single satellite carrier.
