[Satellite TODAY 03-29-12] OnAir has signed an agreement with Thailand Airways International (THAI) to provide in-flight connectivity services on the airline’s new wide-body regional and long haul intercontinental aircraft, OnAir confirmed March 28.

The services will initially be installed on six Airbus A380 and seven Airbus A330 aircraft. The OnAir-equipped THAI aircraft will be integrated into the airline’s main fleet between 2012 and 2017, with in-flight connectivity service available on selected flights serving international destinations in Europe, as well as destinations within the airline’s regional network. OnAir said it would complete its service implementation by the end of the 2012 second-quarter, with full rollout completed by 2014.
THAI Executive Vice President Teerapol Chotichanapibal called the OnAir partnership a major investment program to ensure its position in top airline industry rankings. “In-flight connectivity is yet another innovative service for THAI passengers, with 35 new wide-bodied aircraft to be deployed throughout our expanding network globally during the next five years,” Chotichanapibal said in a statement. “As we’re raising the service levels for our passengers even higher, this marks a further milestone in taking our business into the very top league of global airlines.”
