Newtec announced March 5 that Berretta would be the third external member of its strategic committee, along with former Fortis Bank CEO Brigitte Boone and former Barco CEO Martin De Prycker.

   “[Berretta] has exceptional industry experience and knowledge and is set to be a real source of strength for us,” Newtec Chairman and CEO Serge Van Herck said in a statement. “Many technologically ambitious plans are already underway and having Berretta on board goes a long way towards ensuring our continued success.”

   Berretta currently serves as an honorary chairman of Eutelsat and a chairman emeritus of ESOA. Eutelsat and Newtec have several technology and solution partnership agreements in place for the Africa and Middle East regions.
