[Satellite TODAY 11-29-11]  A Russian government satellite was successfully launched by the Soyuz rocket from the Plesetsk Cosmodrome in Russia, Arianespace announced Nov. 28. This was the 15^th Soyuz family mission in 2011. The launch took place Nov. 28 at 03.25 ET.

            It has been a landmark year for Soyuz. It has been introduced at the Guiana Space Center (CSG) and the Russian medium-class launch vehicle had its first successful launch from there in late October.
