[Satellite TODAY 07-27-10] Boeing has met or exceeded all requirements of a critical design review for the UHF-hosted payload on the Intelsat 22 satellite (IS-22), Boeing announced July 26.
    Operator Intelsat will place the Boeing 702MP platform-based UHF payload on the IS-22 satellite, which will be used to deliver video, network and voice services to the Australian Defence Force as well as commercial services to Intelsat’s customers throughout the Indian Ocean region.
    Boeing was awarded a contract by Intelsat in 2009 to design and build four geostationary satellites with coverage over the Indian Ocean region. IS-22 is scheduled for launch on an International Launch Services Proton vehicle in 2012.
