[Satellite TODAY 09-29-09] Arianespace has rescheduled the launch of the Amazonas-2 and ComsatBw-1 satellites, the company announced Sept. 28.
The launch of the two satellites is now set to take place on Oct. 1, between 5:59 p.m. and 7:10 p.m. EST.
The Amazonas-2 satellite, owned by Hispasat, aims to expand the company’s operations in Latin America by providing communications services and DTH through 64 simultaneous transponders, of which 54 will operate in Ku-band and 10 in C-band.
ComsatBw-1 is a German military satellite that aims to develop the German Bundeswehr‘s (German Armed Forces) concept for network-centric operations.
