[Satellite Today 07-28-09] Gilat Satellite Networks will supply its SkyEdge 2 satellite communications network to Argentinean satellite broadband provider Servicio Satelital, according to a contract Gilat announced July 27.
Servicio Satelital will use the SkyEdge 2 DVB-S2- and DVB-RCS-based network services to provide broadband Internet connectivity and communication services for hundreds of Argentinean schools, oil and gas firms, retail lottery locations, telecommunications operators, and Internet service providers.
Servicio Satelital, a frequent business partner of Gilat, already has deployed VSATs at nearly 2,000 sites in Argentina.
