Thuraya has appointed Teknikkom Electronic as a national handheld voice service provider in Malaysia, Thuraya announced June 17.
Teknikkom will distribute Thuraya’s satellite mobile handhelds as a complementary solution to existing terrestrial applications.
Thuraya said it will leverage Teknikkom’s existing customer net to target the handheld devices to oil and gas markets, non-government and government agencies, corporations as well as individual users located in remote areas.
The handhelds will be available in the Malaysian market through Teknikkom within this week, Thuraya said.
