[Satellite Today 05-04-09] Australian satellite company Codan has acquired Locus Microwave, a U.S.-based satellite microwave technology company, Codan announced May 1.
The deal, valued at more than $3 million, will give Codan more opportunities in the North American satellite market, specifically in the X-band sector.
“Growth in the Locus business will come primarily from the deployment of numerous dedicated government X-Band satellite communications networks including the Wideband Global Satellite Communications (WGS) satellites,” Mike Heard, Codan’s managing director, said in a statement. “… Locus will start to deliver significant profits from the third year of operating within the Codan Group.”
