[Satellite Today – 2-12-08] Gilat Satellite Networks signed a deal with Tatanet, one of India’s leading satellite service providers, to deliver a broadband satellite network, Gilat announced Feb. 12.
The SkyEdge network initially includes a pair of satellite hub stations and 3,500 VSATs that will serve the small and medium enterprise market in India. The system will provide high-speed Internet access and corporate data and video communications.
Financial details of the contract were not released, but the deal includes options for ordering up to 13,000 VSATs.
